Class Descriptions

Energize
This vinyasa flow class will get your heart pumping and challenge your muscles, without loosing focus on proper alignment and breathing. Class is appropriate for students familiar with basic yoga asanas and alignment, with enough of a challenge for more experienced students as well.

Foundations of Yoga
This class is for students new to yoga and students refreshing their practice. Basic asana (poses) are taught in a slow flowing class, with emphasis on alignment, safety, and use of props when needed.

Gentle Yoga
Great for anyone recovering from injury, surgery, prenatal and the elderly. This class will slowly open and stretch the body. No sun salutations.

Hot Yoga
Hot yoga is a series of postures practiced in a hot environment. The heat allows your muscles to stretch deeper than they would otherwise. Another benefit is sweating more. Sweating helps to regulate body temperature, and detoxifies and cleanses your skin and organs. You will leave the class with your muscles relaxed, feeling mentally energized, and filled with a sense of accomplishment. Lunch Hour Hot and Happy Hour Hot indicate the time of day the class takes place. Hot Detox is a hot class for sweating out the toxins consumed over the weekend.

Prenatal Yoga
Prepare for the birth of your baby and work to alleviate pregnancy-related discomforts by practicing gentle, modified yoga poses and breathing exercises. Appropriate for expectant mothers at all stages of pregnancy.

Yin Yoga
A deeply meditative practice of holding postures for an extended period of time. The postures are held to safely open and stretch connective tissue. This class is gentle yet intense. Yin yoga is a great way to bring balance to your active yoga practice and busy lifestyle.

Yoga for Meditation
This class begins with a brief introduction to the 8 limbs of yoga, followed by pranayama (yogic breathing), mantra, and asanas to prepare our bodies for meditation. The class is designed for 45 minutes of movement and breathing with a 10-20 minute meditation at the end (depending on student experience). Students are invited to sit in meditation to their capacity and then take shavasana. We welcome you to explore at your own pace. No yoga experience necessary.
